原味包漿的1789年馬耳他（Malta）30 Tari原光錢幣

（Die Clash Error）

• 哈羅大家！星期二快樂啊！天氣要變冷了！今晚我想分享一枚小品而已。就是一枚有趣的馬耳他 30 Tari 銀幣。直徑跟重量是跟歐洲泰勒（塔勒）錢幣很像！
• 這枚是Emmanuel de Rohan 大師的系列。稍微早期系列。這枚是1789製造的錢幣，來自Valletta造幣廠。
• 這枚裸幣我非常喜歡因為有明顯的錯打。這個error叫die clash。就是磨具先空打，之後大銀幣出來。所以呢，如果我們看正面（人像）的話，我們可以看出來背面的圖案。
• 這枚幣我個人覺得是比較Choice AU（近未流通）或者UNC（未流通）的品相。個人覺得有“eye appeal”！底版好完整，字口、邊和圖案深打。壓力夠足。
• 最後呢，個人覺得這枚1789年 30 Tari是比昨天晚上分享過的1790年 30 Tari 更加好一些。這是我覺得兩面也有好多底光（luster）跟經典馬耳他的原味綠色mossy包漿。非常原味和自然

Happy Monday! The Malta series continues with this new acquisition that I finally can post after some research and cataloging. We have another Malta 30 Tari!

Just last night’s 1790 30 Tari, this piece—ungraded—is a 1789 Maltese 30 Tari struck during the reign of Emmanuel de Rohan, who was the penultimate Grandmaster of Malta. He was born in April 1725 and died in 1797 in Malta at the age of 72 and was the last Grandmaster to pass away on Malta.

Briefly, 1789 is a year that has ONLY ONE TYPE: one where there is an EAGLE below the (cataloged as Davenport 1609). Sometimes 1609–my coin—is called a DRAPED and ARMORED BUST.

Interestingly, this piece is a new and awesome add to my collection due to the awesome DIE CLASH error that I seldom see in Maltese crowns! Here we see an obverse die clash that is quite blatant and obvious! I just find it nifty and a great piece for research as well.

Overall, a choice AU piece, with iconic greenish hues and natural patina, with hardly any wear and any adjustment marks—which are found on these series. Both sides retain their original luster and the Grandmaster’s hair is intact, along with his breastplate.

Arguably better or on par as yesterday’s 1790 specimen. The reverse is sharply struck with clear eagle details and the feathers are fully elucidated. We see clear denticles for this well centered strike. Lastly, as an avid researcher, I realize that for these Maltese pieces, it is hard to differentiate from wear and a soft strike.
